Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of technical information on stock returns partially. Risk and return are interrelated. The greater the return, the greater the risk obtained. However, if these risks are managed, the risks that will occur can be controlled properly. Several things need to be considered in making investment decisions, namely, by analyzing fundamental information and technical information, including inflation, exchange rates, interest rates, and their effect on stock returns. The method used in this study uses quantitative methods. This study indicates that inflation has a significant negative effect on stock returns, interest rates have no effect on stock returns, and the exchange rate has a significant negative effect on stock returns. Further researchers are expected to pay attention to the influence of other factors that can affect price movements and company stock returns.

Abstract

Recent COVID-19 Pandemic has forced many institutions to adopt work from home (WFH) practice whether they’re ready or not. Conditions affecting knowledge worker productivity while adopting new WFH practices become increasingly relevant as compa- nies adapt to the new normal era. This study investigates the direct impact of WFH on productivity and the mediating impact of WFH on productivity through work life balance (WLB) and job satisfaction in the banking industry located in the Greater Jakarta Area. As such, questionnaires were conducted with 234 respondents who have experience of the WFH program due to COVID-19 pandemic and working in the banking industry located in the Greater Jakarta Area. Findings revealed how job satisfaction is a mediating variable between WFH and Productivity, and WFH positively impacts overall productivity. However, contrary to our predictions, results also showed that WFH has a negative impact on WLB. Further research can extend the proposed model of this study by considering adding several variables which might affect productivity in WFH arrangements or implement the already proposed model to other industries.

Abstract

This research is implemented in the banking sector. Knowledge about counterproductive behavior that emerged in banking activity is still limited. Bankers, human resources in the banking sector, deal a lot with customers in their day-to-day job activity by assessing the credit proposal of their bank customers. Qualified credit assessment is essential to determine the approval of bank credit. The failure to assess qualified debtors will result in bad credit in which debtors do not repay the credit they receive. To get qualified credit assessment, bankers follow the 5C Principles in assessing credit proposals. Counterproductive work behavior occurs when workers perform indifferently from what the rules and norms of a company have stated. Qualitative research with a phenomenology approach was conducted to determine how these deviances performed while bankers assessed their customers’ credit loan proposals under the 5C Principles. Six bankers with different job positions were the subjects of this study and were interviewed to get in-depth information. This research reveals items of behaviors related to production deviances in each principle they assessed. Deviances are reported in each principle then categorized into production ones since these behaviors deal a lot with how they perform their job in the credit sector.

Abstract

Technological development pushes the significant role of content in marketing communication. This research aims to seek the effect of content quality on Islamic sharia products’ brand awareness. It is attractive as consumers of Islamic sharia products have more unique characteristics than consumers as usual. For instance, the consumers of Islamic sharia products restrict themselves from consuming a product that is not proper to their religious consciousness. Therefore, this work attempts to introduce the other antecedent variable of spiritual consciousness beyond content quality to reveal how brand awareness appears in Islamic sharia products. So, by employing the covariance-based structural equation model, this study examines the data from 1,429 members of the Islamic community in Indonesia. The result shows that content quality has no significant effect on brand awareness. Instead, the variable of religious consciousness has a positively considerable impact on predicting the level of brand awareness in Islamic sharia product consumption. Indeed, it is decent with the proposed hypothesis of this research. This result shed light on the kind of practice and theoretical implications, such as the empirical test of reconceptualization of the S-O-R model in consumer behavior, implementation of marketing strategy, and development marketing theory on Islamic sharia products. It also gives insight into the development of consumer behavior theory. Further research should extend and focus on consumer purchasing decisions.

Abstract

This study presents a model linking individual characteristics, employee engagement, and employee performance. The primary objective was to investigate the direct effect of individual characteristics on employee performance and its indirect effect through employee engagement. This study used a non-probability sampling technique with a saturation sampling type. The data were obtained by a questionnaire from a sample of 118 respondents of millennial employees in the media and information technologies sector in Yogyakarta. Data were analyzed by used variance-based SEM (SEM-PLS) and found four significant paths models. The result reveals that individual characteristics have a positive and significant effect on improving employee performance. Moreover, individual characteristics are significantly positive in increasing employee engagement, while employee engagement has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. The mediation test result indicated that employee engagement could partially mediate the relationship of individual characteristics on employee performance. Further research can incorporate variables that influence millennial performance, such as job characteristics, intention to leave, job satisfaction, and other variables to improve strategies in enhancing millennial performance.

Abstract

Studies on individual entrepreneurial orientation as well as the relationship between innovativeness, proactiveness, and risk-taking have not received much attention in the entrepreneurship literature. Therefore, this study aims to explore the relationship between the components of individual entrepreneurial orientation and examine the relationship between entrepreneurship education, individual entrepreneurial orientation, and entrepreneurial intention. The model developed was tested on 231 management and business students who have completed an entrepreneurship education program in the university. The data obtained were processed using PLS-SEM statistical programming to evaluate the outer and inner structure of the model. This study indicates that most of the arguments of the model compilers as explicitly observed in determining the effect of proactiveness on innovation have been confirmed. At the same time, risk-taking was discovered not to affect personal innovativeness. Entrepreneurship education was also proven to have affected individual entrepreneurial orientation, while only innovativeness and risk-taking were confirmed to have the ability to increase entrepreneurial intention. The findings succeeded in filling the void related to the study on the relationship dynamics between the dimensions forming individual entrepreneurial orientation. They also comprehensively complement the study model designed in the scope of individual entrepreneurial orientation, which was partially completed. Therefore, the results are expected to provide direction for educators and scholars in the area of entrepreneurship.
